Welcome to Grace Covenant Church! My name is Stephen Bailey and I am the Pastor in this new church plant located in the township of Portsmouth on Aquidneck Island. It is my privilege and joy to extend a warm welcome to you in joining us for worship on the Lord’s Day.
In May of 2016 the Lord was pleased to establish Grace Covenant Church as a local fellowship of believers to worship Him as gracious Savior and Sovereign King, transcendent and holy. Our services place great importance on the preaching of God’s Word and our love for Him is expressed in the singing of hymns, corporate confession of sin, prayers of petition and thanksgiving, and celebrating the Lord’s Supper. He is graciously present in our time together and is glorified in our midst. Truly, our Lord’s Day worship is a gift to us.
On the Lord’s Day we express our love for God and for one another. We believe our worship and love for Him calls us to care for one another that He may be glorified in our relationships. Our Christian faith is not merely salvific, but transformational. We therefore strive for spiritual nurturing and growth in our faith being mindful that the sovereign Lord who keeps us ‘shall neither slumber nor sleep’ but is ever present, ever working, in the hearts of His people for His own glory.
We would love the opportunity to worship with believers of like faith and it is my sincere prayer that you will sense in this brief welcome, our love for our gracious Lord and His Word, and our love for His people.
